Tonya Dunn is a Texas-based literacy professional with 20 years of experience in elementary school education. Most recently, she served as an English and Language Arts (ELA) teacher with the Klein Independent School District (ISD) in Spring, Texas, where she helped fourth- and fifth- grade students to develop their reading and writing skills. Tonya Dunn earned a 2013 Teacher of the Year award while working at Klein Elementary School.
Prior to her role with Klein ISD, she served as a fourth-grade ELA teacher at Cy-Fair Independent School District in Houston, where she taught reading and writing. Tonya Dunn previously worked at Friendswood Independent School District in Texas as a third-grade ELA teacher.
She prepared for her teaching career at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she graduated with a bachelor of science in education and a minor in English elementary education. She also attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where she studied design.
